A powerful story about understanding differences and discovering hidden strengths

This is a warm, heartfelt, and encouraging book that helps children understand that being different is not something to be ashamed of. Fin's struggles with coordination feel real and relatable, but what makes this story special is how he slowly learns that his brain simply works differently and that those differences can also become strengths.

You might be clumsy but you might be able to notice details, pattern and cross reference-insights

Even if you might be clumsy and uncoordinated you might be able to notice details, pattern and cross reference-insights nobody else is able to notice - this is the premise of this book, which is lovely. The moral story is also nice: have faith in yourself.

Good Children Book

Coordination difficulties are the one we need to notice. This book was really good for kids to understand that this is not the big issue, it can solve in a different way. Excellent illustrations for the stroy line. I really enjoyed the illustrations with clear and bright colors . Good for the one who face this Coordination difficulties.

Is this your child?

This is for your family if…

  • Your child drops things, bumps into things, or feels clumsy
  • They’ve been assessed for DCD, dyspraxia, or coordination difficulties
  • They find gym class, handwriting, or buttoning shirts harder than the other kids
  • They’re starting to feel different, and you want them to know that’s okay
  • They’re working with a teacher, SENCO, or OT
  • They need to hear that there’s nothing wrong with them

A heartwarming story for ages 4 to 8.

What happens

Finn drops things.

His toast. His pencil. His entire lunch tray, in front of everyone. And when the ball hits him right on the nose in gym class, all Finn wants to do is disappear.

Then Finn meets Rosa, the school’s occupational therapist. And Rosa tells him something nobody has said before. His brain isn’t broken. It just works differently.

His brain sends signals in zigzags. So yes, some things will always be a little harder. But his brain also sees what everyone else walks straight past. The spider in the corner of the library. The sadness on a friend’s face. The rain coming, before the clouds even change.

By the end of the story, Finn understands his brain. He sees its quiet superpower. And he wouldn’t change a thing about it.
